Etymology[]
Unofficial translation. Galatea's datasheet names her ability in Yoma War Record II.[5] The manga and anime describe only.
Description[]
Galatea's Alignment ability enables her technique: align one's Yoma energy with the target's, then move the aligned energy bodies together as one body to control the target's movements.
Yoma power manipulation is more difficult with targets that possess a higher Yoma power baseline than Galatea's. Thus distracting the target's mind is necessary to break any focus on counterattack (Yoma War Record II).[6]
Yoma power usage is approximately 12–42%,[7] Yoma power control 90%.[8] See Yoma power chart.
Compare to Yoma power harmonization.
History[]
Witch's Maw[]
In abandoned castle, Clare attacks Dauf, but gets captured. Then Galatea arrives.[9]
Using Yoma Energy Alignment and Control, Galatea makes Dauf drop Clare into her waiting arms.[10] Galatea tries to leave. But Dauf caves-in entrance. But all his rods miss their target. Galatea cuts off Dauf's hand.[11]
Galatea in action
Riful appears and couches Dauf on circumventing Galatea's technique. Dauf is to override Galatea's technique by sheer emotional force. Dauf eventually defeats Galatea, who is rescued by Clare.[12] Galatea orders Clare to retrieve Jean, while she holds off Dauf.[13]
In the fourth round of combat, Galatea closes Dauf's mouth, preventing him from firing Yoma rods.[14]
Pieta[]
During the first engagement of the Battle of the North, Team Flora engages the Armadillo awakened.
During the fighting, Clare observes that Armadillo's technique, though resembling Yoma Energy Alignment and Control, has greater power than Galatea's technique. He makes Flora's sword miss, then forces Carla to attack Flora.[15]
