Cold open[]
In the explosion aftermath, dust settles. Clare curses her expected failure. But she spoke too soon—Jean is back to normal.[7]
Jean recovered[]
Clare tries to explain everything, but senses that Galatea has reached her limit. Jean sees Raquel's body in the corner and promises to avenge her and Katea.[8]
Jean pledges her life to Clare, but Clare insists Jean's life is her own to use.[9]
Combat continues[]
End of round II[]
Upstairs, Galatea is on her knees in defeat, wounded and her Yoma energy depleted. Dauf is about to finish her off. But Clare and Jean bursts up through the floor.[10]
Galatea improvises a plan of attack—she and Clare will distract Dauf, while Jean uses her Drill Sword at the base of Dauf's throat.[11]
Round III[]
The plan nearly works, but Dauf catches Galatea and Clare between his hand and wrist stump. His remaining hand blocks Jean's Drill Sword, which destroys three fingers. He swats Jean down.[12]
Jean's attack
Despite his "victory," Dauf is distraught over his injuries. His cries annoy Riful, who admires the comradeship of the Claymore warriors.[13]
Round IV[]
But Clare gets up. Clare asks Jean to try one more time. Clare says she will clear a path for Jean's attack.[14]
Additional details[]
Notes[]
- The anime version leaves out Jean's oath of vengeance when viewing Raquel's body, since the warrior who reaches Hamel is retconned as "Raquel"[15]
