Cold open[]

While fighting Hysteria, Miria notices the immense Yoma power explosion. Cassandra has awakened into a huge humanoid form, standing prone with tentacles supporting the body.[5]

Cassandra[]

Dusteater[]

Cassandra sends out hydra-like tentacles, ending with human heads that strike the ground. Roxanne is ecstatic. A hydra-tentacle attacks Roxanne, amputating her left arm. Roxanne counterattacks.[6]

Evacuation[]

Miria defends the Twin Trainees from Cassandra's attacking tentacles. Miria orders the twins to evacuate Audrey, Rachel and Nina.[7]

Miria's trap[]

Last chance[]

But Miria is disrupted by Hysteria's assault. Despite Cassandra's awakening, Hysteria continues the combat with Miria—she cuts of Miria's arm.[8] Miria realizes that Hysteria has guessed Miria's timing. In a desperate stratagem, repeating Scene 35, Miria lets Hysteria cut off her remaining arm. Though impaled by Miria's sword, Hysteria pulls it out and makes for Miria.[9]

Unknown to Hysteria, Miria spotted a lost sword on the ground. Miria throws her armless body over the sword—hiding it—then waits for Hysteria.[10]

Unexpected[]

When Hysteria comes to deliver the coup de grace, Miria clutches the hilt in her teeth and runs Hysteria through the neck. Hysteria collapses.[11]

For Miria's technique, see Cutlass Between The Teeth trope.

Reversal and revelation[]

Roxanne defeated[]

Miria reattaches her arm, anticipating Roxanne's help in fighting Cassandra. But a limbless torso falls to earth—Roxanne's. The heads of Cassandra's eat Roxanne's limbs. Cassandra eventually licks Roxanne's face.[12]

Dae's plan[]

In the distance, Dae and Rubel observe the three combats. Dae reveals his plan for the resurrected warriors to awaken. The resulting Yoma energy should attract the owner of the mystery arm[13], thus revealing the identity of the Abyssal.[14]

Awakenings[]

Owning to their severe wounds, both Roxanne and Hysteria awaken.[15]
