Cold open[]

In the baptismal hall, the bisected Voracious Eater collapses in two, as Galk, Sid and Raki watch.[7]

Clare's awakening[]

New reversal[]

The Yoma's corpse splatters the floor. While Raki and the guards rejoice, Clare is uneasy. Though her new strength from awakening enabled her to kill the Yoma, she now cannot return to normal. Clare is now in danger of becoming a Yoma.[8]

Suicide[]

Clare holds her sword to her throat. When Raki tries to stop her, she tells him that since she is awakening, she must end her life. Raki approaches Clare, but her sword nearly strikes him.[9]

Mercy killing[]

She asks Galk to euthanize her. But Raki intervenes when Clare tries to say goodbye.[10]

Scene 011a
Under the sword

As Galk hesitates, his sword held upright, Raki tearfully holds on to the awakening Clare—Yoma power explodes.[11]

As the vapors clear, Clare finds herself back to normal. Galk realizes that Raki saved Clare's life.[12]

Leaving the Holy City[]

At the city gateway, a party accompanies Clare and Raki. Clare is still recovering from her injuries, but must leave. Captain Ganesu tries to thank Clare for all she has done. Father Vincent remembers his promise to take in Raki. But when Clare asks Raki if he wishes to stay, he chooses to leave with Clare.

As Clare is about to leave, Sid kisses Clare on the mouth. A jealous Raki kicks Sid, but as they fight Clare tells Raki it is time to leave. Sid makes Raki to promise to grow big and strong to help Clare.[13]

Additional details[]
