Unknown etymology. ロクト is similar to Rokutów, a village in west-central Poland.

Village in an unknown region. South of France, rural architecture. Anime version has a bridge crossing a river bordering the village.

New homeEdit

Teresa and Clare reach Rokut, where Teresa intends to leave Clare.[7]

That night, Teresa encounters Rig. Teresa consents to his advances, but Clare attacks him with a stick. When Rig strikes back, Teresa uses his sword to frighten him away.[8]

Clare hugs Teresa's exposed stigma. Teresa realizes Clare was only trying to comfort Teresa back in the village, where Teresa found Clare. They bond as mother and daughter.[9]

New familyEdit

The next day, Teresa buys Clare new clothes. Outside the dress shop, Teresa kills a Yoma.[10]

But when Teresa finds a new family for Clare, Clare throws away her new outfit.[11] But Teresa leaves Clare with her new family.[12]

Deadly returnEdit

As Teresa walks down the road, the bandit gang gallops past on horseback.[13] In the anime, as Teresa climbs a mountain road, a dust cloud hovers below—the bandit gang gallops toward Rokut.[14]

She realizes the Yoma inadvertently protected Rokut.[15]

She rushes back. Rokut ablaze, most of the villagers are dead. Teresa catches Rig dragging an unconscious Clare. She cuts off Rig's other hand, then splits him in two.[16]

Boss challenges Teresa with his Falcon Sword, the "blade" made of a series of segments that stretch apart. The sword has whip-like properties, enabling Boss to reach several meters. But Teresa defeats him anyway.[17]

Clare awakens amid the slaughtered gang.[18]

But from a hilltop, Orsay watches.[19] In the anime, Orsay watches from a rooftop.[20]

After Teresa refuses to be executed and leaves the purge team wounded, Orsay orders warriors 2–5 to find and purge Teresa.[21]
